Project 3---Brick Images(5)



9. The type of the brick is “Old Colonial: Mahogany”. Structural used. It is Flemish bond with raked joint. The colours are red, dark brown. Motar colour is red( maybe because after a period of time, mortar has been dyed by the bricks). The texture is rough, with many tiny ups and downs.




10. This is a stretcher bond with raked joint. Structural used. The colour is red. Mortar colour is grey. The surface is the feature of this example, it has rough texture which has more visual interest.

7. The type of brick is “Heritage: Jamison”. Structural used and decorative used. It is English bond with flush joint. The colours include red and grey, mortar colour is red. The surface is smooth. The unique feature is its circle brick patterns in front of the entrance and windows.



8. The type of brickwork is “Blends: Darley II”. Structural used. It is stretcher bond with ironed joint. The colours include: red, brown, grey. Mortar colour is light grey. The texture is a bit rough. From the left hand side of the second image, it can be noticed that a kind of bond which is 45 degree slant. The arch has bricks jump out to the stretcher bond forming a unique pattern.

5. The type of brick is “Blends: Terrace”. Structural used. This is a stretcher bond with raked joint. The colour is yellow with some bricks are grey. Mortar colour is black. The surface is a bit rough, with some “scar”.



6. The type of brick is “Blends: Dunheved”. Structural used. It is stretcher bond with flush joint. The colours include brown, light brown, grey. Mortar colour is grey. The surface is rough with many tiny holes

3. The type of brick is “Dry Pressed Bowral Bricks: Bowral Brown” Structural used. This is an English bond, ironed joint building. The surface is smooth. The colour is between red and brown. Mortar colour is dark grey. The unique feature of this example is its arch brickwork.



4. This is an example of stretcher bond with ironed joint. Metroplois Series are perfect for those larger projects & decorative. The colour is brown. Mortar colour is grey. The surface is not very smooth, with some tiny holes. It is structural used.

1. The type of brick is “Dry Pressed Bricks: Shorthorn Mix” The bond type is English Bond, joint is flush joint. The colours include red, brown. Mortar colour is grey. The surface is slightly rough with some tiny holes. The brickwork is used for exterior walls and columns.



2. The type of brick is “Governors Range: Belmore” This example shows English bond, Ironed joint. The surface is smooth. The colour is red. Mortar colour is grey. The brickwork can be seen in structural elements, decorative elements as well.

This is a example of English Cross or Dutch Bond. Jointing is Flush Joint. it consists of red, grey bricks.
